Would you attend a Wycombe Network social event and why?

As spring approaches and the days are getting longer it's time to get out and about more. As we approach nearly 200 members and the possibility of socialising rather than snuggling indoors becomes an option, would members like to get together for Wycombe Network social event.

Why? The network is full of people with different interests and profiles all with a common interest in Wycombe. The purpose of the event would be to build bridges, contacts, ideas and collaborations between varied people and groups that in the end will benefit the community.

If so please express your views and ideas in the forum. If there is a demand I am sure we can all make it happen.

Ideas on where, when, what etc gratefully received

Hi,

Networking with other artists is a great idea. Marketing is one of the biggest problems for artists and I would like to network with artists who would like work together to market their work on the web.

Something in one of the parks would be a good idea providing that the weather was good - a mass picnic, with everyone bringing their own food and descending on The Rye/Tom Burt's Hill/Hughenden Park? It wouldn't cost anything aside from what food/drinks people decided to bring, and everyone would get a good chance to mingle. Perhaps even have a kick-around or some other team games?!
Sounds like a great idea. I would be up for a social gathering. Weather could be an issue if an outside event was planned.
Think this is a great idea. Although 200 is a sizeable number to deal with and you can be sure that whatever type of event you choose that you will not be pleasing everybody. You could think of something along the lines of regular drinks session at a local hostelry say on the first Friday of the month between 6-8pm. That way you create a regular calendar event and maintain contact enabling us all to build on the networking aspect in an informal, social environment. This could culminate in an annual event such as the summer picnic suggested below although I must admit that weather dependent events make me nervous.
Only just seen these posts - was wondering if any plans were made or are ongoing to meet up?
Have it in August so me and
Andy can come. We have to go to Wales for a wedding that month
