I see graffiti as art, but if you provide a space for it, is it still graffiti? Does anyone have experience of graffiti walls? Could one be provided at St John's?

Good question Pippa

Does a tree falling in the forest make a sound if no one is there?

Graffiti is a great idea!

Mike
Is a play still theatre if not performed in a theatre? graffiti is 'writing on the wall', literally. 'Street Art' has evolved esp. in the last 10 years and is now unquestioned as an artform. I have quite a lot of experience with this as a professional artist, often working in this genre.
See my website decreate.co.uk for some examles or come see some of my work at Wycombe Academy of Music & Art in August! I've also just started collaborating with The Soulful Gallery (google it) who do street/graffiti style art/murals/workshops :)
btw, there's a really nice piece of graffiti on public display at the moment at BCUC (by the new library)...

ps hi mike, come down to the WAMA to say hi when it opens next week! i see some collaborations in the future...
Thanks Dan. Have checked out your website and love your work. Where is the WAMA being held?
