Online Networking and Face-to-Face Networking - both can be Social!
Although I am deeply fascinated by the plethora of opportunities afforded by new online social networking technologies, nothing can replace meeting and engaging with people face-to-face. F2F interaction is the basic human condition and essential for happy life and living. As a musician (well drummer!) I appreciate the quality of music is higher when I am playing with other musicians in front of a real crowd rather than in front of music technology by myself. However without the hard graft alone the performances will not reach highs.
The same goes for social networking. Sitting at home by a screen can lead to broader range of contacts, you can quickly establish common ground and themes for connection. But without meeting up these relationships will not flourish as well.
That is why I believe the Centre for Creativity and CSI: High Wycombe are key initiatives for this network and for Wycombe District overall. Its is through face-to-face meetings and collaboration that we can energise each other for greater success.

I can't seem to view the website properly.

Glad to help get things going - I'll invite some more soon. I can't get over how easy it is to upload photos, much easier than Facebook - in fact the whole site is so user friendly - it's great. One thing I was trying to set up Commercial Sq as a group and can't because we don't have a website address - is there any way round that please?
Cheers Patricia
Thanks
Patricia
More than happy to help - just let me know how

I'm sure you've thought of this but have you sent notification of this wonderful website to Trisha at the Visual Images Group - she could put it into her regular email newsletter - it goes out every couple of weeks to at least a couple of hundred artists and hopefully many of them in our area would be keen to sign up - I'm just trying to think how we can get more people on the site quickly, people I have already contacted said they will sign up but they aren't exactly being quick about it - studio members included!
Good luck anyway.

Yes I did see the comment and sounds like a good idea to me. Would you take a commission from the sales price?

At the moment I'm just starting out so I have sold through the Bucks Open Studio's in June and am in the process of sending info packs out to galleries and organisations. The online set up sound like a really good idea and I would definitely be interested.
Keep me updated or if you need any help with it would also be intereseted.
Regards
Vickie
